Summer Staff

Thank you for considering being a Summer Staff at Camp Illiana! God is going to do some awesome things this summer. Camp Illiana’s desire is that you not only serve, but that you learn skills that will benefit you throughout your entire life. Whether this is your first summer on staff or you are a returning member, you are probably excited about the summer ahead of you. Being a staff member at Camp Illiana is not just a summer job, it is a ministry. In addition, this “job” could be one of the best experiences you ever have if you chose to make the most of it!

Camp Illiana is on a mission to energize youth, encourage families, and serve the Church.  People come to Illiana and make memories that last a lifetime and take their next step in following Jesus Christ.  As summer staff you are on the front lines of this awesome ministry and are an official member of Camp Illiana family.  God has clearly used the ministry of Illiana to change lives, call people to His work, and have a lot of fun times!

Information contained in this document will serve as a guide for your initial training. You will signify that you have read, understand, and agree to follow the standards and procedures for performance by signing the separate training document upon on completion of your training.

Camp Illiana was dedicated in 1950.  At the dedication Camp Illiana was set apart to the service of the one true God and to Jesus Christ, His son and our Lord. Camp was devoted to the teachings of Bible, a place where people can discover the hope of Jesus Christ and the proclamation of the message of the New Testament Church. Over the years, thousands of people have come to find inspiration and guidance for living a life like Jesus Christ.  Loving people and churches have invested time, resources, and money for generations resulting in making camp the awesome place is today.

In many ways Camp Illiana is a business as well as a ministry.  The “product” we offer is the lifetime memories made and the way God uses camp to change lives.  Therefore this ministry is run in a businesslike manner, striving for superior customer satisfaction and continued growth so that God can use camp to reach more people for His Glory.

Without question, this is a TEAM effort.  Each person, in each job, is entrusted with a responsibility to God, to our customers, to him or herself, to fellow staff, and to the ministry to do the best job possible to ensure the success of all that is accomplished here.  We are dependent upon each other in this regard.

If each team member can maintain this attitude of team spirit and strive for the goal of EXCELLENCE in his/her work, there is no doubt that we will have a successful ministry, enjoyable working conditions, and personal satisfaction for everyone.

You have a choice to make, the choice to commit yourself 100% this summer to the work of Camp Illiana.  God will use your love and commitment to bring people closer to Him.

The Bible is our only rule and guide.  We believe that it is inspired by God and is designed as our sole resource.  Our nonprofit corporation is an association of the area non-denominational Christian Churches and Churches of Christ.  We are a part of the restoration movement.
